The Space:
Le Grand Pré sits on the top floor of a characterful old building in the heart of Le Suquet, Cannes’ old town, only steps from the main square. Recently and completely renovated, this one-bedroom apartment is bright, quiet and finished to a high standard — and it has the one thing most old-town apartments don’t: its own balcony, looking out over the terracotta rooftops.
The living room has high ceilings, oak floors and soft concealed lighting running the length of the cornice. There is a comfortable sofa, a flat-screen TV and a dining table, with French windows opening onto the balcony — wide enough for a bistro table and two chairs, and the right place to start the day with a coffee above the rooftops.
The kitchen is a separate room and fully fitted: induction hob, built-in oven, extractor, dishwasher, washing machine and coffee machine. Everything you need to cook properly rather than just reheat.
The bedroom is a true separate room with a large double bed and its own window. The bathroom has a walk-in glass shower, a vanity unit and a heated towel rail — and there is a second, separate WC with its own basin, a small thing that makes a real difference for two.
Air conditioning throughout.
Adults only. The building is old, the staircase to the third floor is steep and there is no lift, and the apartment is not equipped for children. Le Grand Pré is reserved for adult guests.
Travelling as four? Its smaller twin, Le Petit Pré, is directly across the landing on the same floor. Booked together, Le Grand Pré and Le Petit Pré give a group of four the entire top floor to themselves.
The Neighborhood:
The apartment is on Rue du Pré, a quiet street in the Suquet neighborhood. It is a 6-minute walk to the port of Cannes and 10 minutes to the Palais des Festivals and the Croisette, with restaurants, shops and bars starting at the end of the street.
